my brother derek, known to others as diker passed away suddenly in hospital. Derek hadnt been well for a while and we were waiting for test results to come back when we had a phonecall that he had passed away. it was such a shock to us all. born in stockton to the late billy and sylvia, he was a much loved son and a cherished brother to myself, keith, jackie, pamela, lorraine, susan, jinnette.. he loved nothing more than going to his local social club (the hardwick) meeting up with friends and having a laugh. he had one friend named doreen who helped him turn his life around when he needed to. she helped him achieve so much in the last couple of years, she was like a guardian angel to diker. also fred who he enjoyed his first holiday abroad with. they were so close, had been since school, along with semi they were best of friends. if only he knew that he was loved by so many and will never be forgotten. he was the best brother anyone could wish for and i will miss and love him eternally.

My Life Changed

My Life changed, the very moment I found out
That you had passed away.
I couldn't stop it;
There was nothing I could say.

You've touched my life so deeply
To a point you will never know,
I try to think about you
When I am feeling down and low.

Sometimes when my day gets hard
I will think about your beautiful smile
And if I listen hard enough
I will hear your voice after a while.

It's you who give me a reason
To go on with my day,
And now if I want to see you
I'll bow my head and pray.

I catch myself looking for you still,
In the halls and at your front door,
But when I call your name
There is no reply any more!

I never thought a day would come
Where we would be apart,
God has you in his keepings,
We have you in our hearts.

Life will go on, but never will be the same,
Your beautiful smile is gone, but it will always remain.
You're our angel from up above.
You'll always be missed, but most importantly... loved.

Just one more minute,
God, is all I ask- why can't you give her back;
It seems like such a simple task.
I guess people are right

When they say God only takes the best,
I know enough now that you're peacefully at rest.

“The Best”

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and He whispered “Come to Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you.
We watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He chose to take the best.
It’s lonesome here without you
we miss you more each day.
Life doesn’t seem the same
since you have gone away.
When days are sad and lonely
and everything goes wrong,
we seem to hear you whisper
“Cheer Up and Carry On”
Each time we see your picture
you seem to smile and say,
“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands,
we’ll meet again someday!”

You meant so much to all of us
You were special and that's no lie
You brightened up the darkest day
And the cloudiest sky

Your smile alone warmed hearts
Your laugh was like music to hear
I would give absolutely anything
To have you well and standing near

Not a second passes
When you're not on our minds
Your love we will never forget
The hurt will ease in time

Many tears I have seen and cried
They have all poured out like rain
I know that you are happy now
And no longer in any pain

~God's Garden~

God looked around his garden
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again

He saw that the road was getting rough,
And the hills are hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
That’s what people say
And I found that, an honest fact
As I sat and thought today.

Your picture there before me
A tear was in my eye
I couldn’t even stroke your hair
I could only sit, and sigh.

A little lump came to my throat
Again, a little sigh
I had to put your picture down
Or else I’d start to cry.

But, no matter how long the time may be
Or how long we are apart
I’ll always keep your picture
Here, within my heart.

A message from your Angel to you....

When im looking down from heaven,
I will help to ease your pain,
I will be on your shoulder,
When i hear you say my name.

I never meant to make you cry.
Its hard to watch you grieve,
Ive heard you often saying
'why did you have to leave'

I am in a better place
And i am free from pain,
And you will see my smiling face,
When we meet in heaven again.

ALWAYS IN MIND

⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰ ⊱♥⊰

Time has stood still for those who love you,
the grief is still fresh, their hearts are still blue.
Memories can ease pain but they never can fill,
the space that is left when they think of you still.

So stay near to those who miss you each day,
for they carry a sadness since you went away.
Send the strength to cope where others have tried,
and some love for their hearts that hurt deep inside.

♥ღ♥ Memories of The Heart ♥ღ♥

♥ღ♥ Feel no guilt in laughter
He knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile
That he's not here to share.

You cannot grieve forever
He would not want you to
He'd hope that you would carry on
The way you always do.

So talk about the good times
And the ways you showed you cared
The days you spent together
All the happiness you shared.

Let the memories surround you
A word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture
A time, an hour, a day.

That brings him back as clearly
As though he were still here
And fills you with the feelings
That he is always near

For if you keep those memories
You will never be apart
And he will live forever
Locked safe within your heart ♥ღ♥

Look through your tears of sadness
And look out for a smile
I'd like to see you happy
If only for a while
I'd like to see your sad days
Turned into something bright
You can use me as your guardian
To make this world seem right
I know it can be difficult
And everything seems wrong
But hold your head above it all
I will gladly help you along
For every hour I see you crying
Its an hour that I'm left sad
For every hour I see you laughing
Its an hour that I feel glad
Dont hold onto the yesterdays
Today is a brand new day
And the tap you feel on your shoulder
Is me to guide you on your way
